Do You Take Your Used Holiday Rambler Camping?
Do take your used Holiday Rambler camping? Camping is one of those traditional pass times that almost all of us have at least given a shot. There will always be those individuals who find camping absolutely avoidable, but there are those who are totally dedicated, as well. There are avid “campers” out there that are very attached to their tents. And there are avid outdoorsmen out there that are very attached to their sleeping bags. And there are plenty of naturalists out there that would insist that sleeping on the ground is the way to go . . . But what about your used Holiday Rambler? Does it camp?
Some would say no. Some would say RVing is NOT camping. This particular type of camper would claim that you can’t call it camping if you are showering and flushing and oven baking and storing left over veggies in the handy dandy refrigerator. They would see your used Holiday Rambler as cheating or maybe even as an entirely different vacation.
Others would say that camping is camping. You’re settled in right in the middle of the beautiful countryside. You’ve got no pressing time schedules besides the one that your own stomach dictates with rolls and growls. You’ve got all the time in the world. Does it change matters that you can sneak in your used Holiday Rambler to watch a movie if the mood takes you? Or climb into your used Holiday Rambler to bathe the kids after they have an exceptionally thorough mud fight? Or lock the door and close the windows against the chill at night?
I would have to say that, yes, it does make a difference. It makes all the difference in the world. And at the same time, yes, your used Holiday Rambler does camp. Camping and RVs go hand in hand. Your used Holiday Rambler doesn’t eradicate the function of camping; it only adds a new aspect. You’ve got more options. You can stay longer. You can enjoy it with young children. You can have a higher level of safety. You can combine comfort with nature.
Say you are sitting at the campfire as it dwindles, licking the last smudges of marshmallow that are dripping from the edges of your smore, and resting your chilled toes against the rocks ringing the fire to warm them up . . . this is definitely camping. Someone might tell a ghost story, and someone else might daydream about all the fish they’re going to catch before the sun is fully in the sky the next morning. Your getting up right before you drift off to sleep and stepping up into your used Holiday Rambler while a fellow camper douses the fire doesn’t take away all the great features offered by traditional camping. If you really think about it, all your Holiday Rambler is doing is giving you the opportunity to get a good night’s sleep up off the ground and without the air hissing out consistently in the night from an air mattress that will leave you sleeping on the ground come morning, anyway.
So, don’t be the grump who refuses to accept any sort of change with a positive attitude. Your used Holiday Rambler is actually the perfect camping asset. It loves to go camping. You should take it. If you’ve never tried it, you’re not allowed to bash it. It’s an age old rule. So, before you emphatically state that RVs are not camping material . . . step up into one and head out camping. You’ll never know why so many people are so crazy about it unless you try it, right? And you never know. You just might find that you like camping a whole lot more than you ever realized!
